The Department of History was established on 15th January 1959, making it one of the oldest departments
in Malaysia and the biggest in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Malaya.
The staff is highly specialized in various areas such as the history of Malaysia, South East Asia, South Asia, East Asia,
Far East, Middle East, Europe, Africa, United States of America and Russia.
