Conference Synopsis
Three years into the pandemic, the world is still working to secure global public health as well as to revive the pandemic-stricken economy aggravated by the war in Ukraine. The G20 is a multilateral platform where the world’s major developed and emerging economies could deliberate and formulate strategies in response to such global crisis.
This year, Indonesia has assumed the Presidency of G20. And for the 2022 Bali Summit, Indonesia has set the focus on addressing these challenges around three main pillars: Global Health Architecture, Sustainable Energy Transition, and Digital Transformation.
Aside from the pandemic, the Summit is also convening at a time when the world is undergoing major geopolitical reconfiguration. In what ways the ongoing US-China rivalry could impact the G20 deliberations? Will the G20 members rally around to lead the global community to ‘recover together, recover stronger’? And how does the G20 initiatives compare with other groupings such as the G7 and BRICS?
This conference will host a group of eminent national and international scholars to share their thoughts and perspectives on the G20 Bali Summit and to discuss the prospect of the world coming together in ‘collective action and inclusive collaboration’ to spearhead a global recovery from the pandemic and the pandemic-induced economic stagnation.
